Stephanie Blaisdell
Body Science Founder, Massage Therapist, Yoga Instructor

Stephanie opened Body Science Massage & Bodywork Therapies in March of 2007 at InStyle Designs in Centerville. In the summer of 2010, she opened a new space at the Lamb and Lion Inn, just outside Barnstable Village. In addition to massage services, the new location also offered group and private yoga classes.  In 2016 she downsized back to Instyle Designs so she could focus on individual treatments and expanding her yoga teaching to other Cape studios, including The Sanctuary in Barnstable Village.  She is currently focused on building a brand new studio which will include heat and water features for healing, a small private yoga studio and an outdoor healing garden…possibly even a sauna.

Stephanie graduated from Dovestar Holistic Institute, completing the 500-hour Massage Therapy Certification program.  She is a Certified Whole Health Educator and a certified Hatha Yoga Teacher.  Stephanie also holds a B.S. in Psychology from George Mason University and has completed many hours of continuing education in the massage field.  She is a nationally board certified Massage Therapist, a member in good standing with the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals as well as a Yoga Alliance Practitioner.

Stephanie’s bodywork specialties include relaxation, pain relief, deep tissue & injury work.  Stephanie uses a variety of techniques designed around your specific needs to relax your body, leaving you feeling much better.  She uses a combination of techniques to really stretch and move your body back into a state of peaceful relaxation, allowing your body’s innate healing response to kick into gear and get you feeling better sooner.

I offer daytime, evening and weekend appointments, and because you asked, same day appointments are often available.

I use only top quality high end products for your body care treatments, including 100% pure unrefined golden jojoba from the Jojoba Company located in Maine. Hobocare jojoba is a renewable resource, is cruelty-free (never tested on animals) and is 100% biodegradable. The container is made of recycled products and the product itself contains no pesticides. Hobocare is non-allergenic and non-comedogenic, and penetrates into the skin leaving your skin feeling soft and supple but not greasy. Hobocare soothes and restores elasticity to dry skin areas while conditioning and softening the skin. Jojoba is one of the best products you can put on your skin.

I have recently added the Jindilly line of Macadamia Nut Oil products to my spa services.  Clinical trials have shown that cold pressed macadamia oil significantly improves skin texture, reducing inflammation and repairs cellular damage.  For this reason I have chosen to incorporate some of their products into a few of my treatments.  Like jojoba it closely resembles the naturally occurring oil in human skin, so it absorbs quickly and leaves your skin feeling soft and supple, not greasy.

All body treatments are performed on a massage table with the client fully draped in the most comfortable sheets I could find on the market.  I use only Comphy Co sheets.  They are soft and silky and feel quite luxurious against skin, and can be found in many of the super high end destination spas around the world.

I strive to provide the most comfortable experience I can to all my clients.
