Yoga for the Unbendable Person

Yoga is a means for the body, mind & spirit to connect as one.  This results in a feeling of deep peace and relaxation that allows us the opportunity to flower into our true human potential while here on earth. In practical terms, this helps us to handle stress much more efficiently and keeps our bodies strong & healthy.

Research has shown that yoga helps manage or improve a wide range of conditions including:  arthritis, asthma, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, chronic fatigue, depression, diabetes, headaches, heart disease, insomnia and anxiety to name a few.

I offer Yoga for the Unbendable Person in group, private and semi private classes at your home or in my home studio.

My classes are designed for the average person who is new to yoga.  I focus on teaching body awareness and breathing techniques thru simple poses that allow you to deeply connect with your body.  I firmly believe in allowing your body the time it needs to heal and speak to you…as you settle into that space of centered awareness on your mat, you can begin to learn to hear your body….Your body does not speak in words nor does it speak loudly (until we have hurt it–then it’s quite capable of screaming bloody murder to get our attention–but this is a last resort).  It takes time for us to learn how to listen to our body and then to try to work with our body to maintain optimum health and well being.

My classes are fun explorations into the fascinating inner and outer world of your body.  I encourage play, questions and proper bolstering.  The more we can assist and nurture our body the more it will respond to our will.  Yoga should be enjoyable and educational…when you leave my class you will feel connected with your body, peaceful and relaxed but also more educated about how your body works and how you can take care of yourself-off the mat.  No class is ever the same, but I do stick with basic poses which allows you to become familiar with the pose while offering you the opportunity to push yourself if you want.

Like any bodywork-sometimes you want a bit more challenge-sometimes you need to just chill…no matter what your individual needs are for the day, you can find room for your personal expression in my classes.

Continued yoga practice will allow you to begin to live in your body with peace.  You will feel better and be able to do more, you will be stronger and more flexible on all levels which will allow you the ability to pursue your chosen activities without pain.
